Went looking for Joshua B Neighbors. Found his wife Lucy in 1900 census records. Ancestry.com listed a bunch of military records for him, with the following summaries:
-- Enlisted 10 Oct 1861 as a Private in Company K, Virginia 54th Infantry Regiment (Confederacy) in Salem, Roanoke County, VA
-- Received a disability discharge sometime thereafter.
-- Re-enlisted 27 Nov 1863 as a Private in Company E, 42nd Infantry Regiment Virginia
-- Died of disease as a POW on 29 Nov 1864 at Elmira, NY
-- Record shows he was mustered out the same date, but this is clearly erroneous if he died.
-- Burial is shown at Woodlawn National Cemetery at 1825 Davis Street, Elmira, NY 14901, Section CSA Site 997.
