if the first, next census record might fit:

Looking for descendants of William Langstaff Gladden
Posted by: Vicki Brown (ID *****8154) Date: April 02, 2007 at 10:34:23

William Langstaff Gladden was born in England, either Liverpool or Reading. He was impressed into the Royal Navy at age 14 and when it docked in America he never reboarded. He had sons, James Thomas Gladden (my grandfather), Theodore Gladden, David Gladden and Baxter Gladden. James married Texas Anna Smith the folk singer and they had 10 children. My mother is the baby of those 10. Her name is Eleanor Wilma Jean Gladden Vandergrift. I have 28 cousins. James settled in the Roanoke Valley in Virginia.

Kora Catheryne Gladden

Found a 1930 Census Record in Virginia, with household including:

Oscar L Lambert 52 - carpenter - general work (born 1877 or 1878?)
Cora Lambert 49 (wife)
Katherine Vea 21 (daughter) (born ~1909)
Fred C Vea 21 (son-in-law) - lineman - telephone co.
Zula Glanddin 77 (mother)
Mary Bullinge 40 (sister) (born ~1890)
John T Cobb 40 (boarder) - collector - collecting agency
Albert Pickerel 8 (adopted son)

This is Cora, as evidenced by Zula "Glanddin" her mother.

This is entirely circumstantial

An earlier 1900 census from Virginia might be for the husband, Oscar, 30 years earlier:

James Lambert 55
Bing Lambert 19 (son) - farmer
Hudora Lambert 17 (daughter)
Oscar Lambert 15 (son) - farm laborer

Following comes from familysearch

Search on Catherine Lambert (probable daughter) in familysearch.org returned:

Searches for Mary Lambert (Mary Bullinge above) yielded nothing conclusive, nor did any other searches for Oscar Lambert.

Following is reference by name only - circumstantial

1880 census record lists the following household in Pleasant Grove, Randolph, North Carolina for Oscar Lambert (where he had reported his parents were from, even though he said he was born in Virginia):

John M. Lambert 37 (farmer)
Louisa J. Lambert 34
Alfrido V. Lambert 9
Sarah L. Lambert 5
Oscar L. Lambert 3
William S. Lambert 8M

==

Chasing John M Lambert, hoping to find more on Oscar showed:

1850 census record for Southern Division, Randolph, North Carolina (sorted by household/age):

John G. Lambert 18 (hireling)
Annie H. Lambert 17 (seamstress, likely Antoinette above)
Caroline Lambert 16
Adaline Lambert 14
Matilda Lambert 12
Polly Lambert 8 (how could she be 8 but be on the previous record?)
John Lambert 7
Asenath Lambert 5
John B Lambert 54 (farmer)

additional neighbors are listed with last names of "Moffett" and "Foushee", which is ALSO a neighbor in the next 1870 census record for John Lambert. This implies the John Lambert listed in the 1860 record is the SAME as in the 1870 record

1870 census record for Pleasant Grove, Randolph, North Carolina:

John Lambert 27
Luretha J Lambert 23

on the next page we find:

Jesse Lambert 69 (farmer)
Frances B Lambert 65 (keeping house)
Amelia E Lambert 25 (no occuptation)

Charles Lambert 37 (farmer)
Martha J Lambert 37 (keeping house)
William M Lambert 3 (at home)

Sarah M Lambert 57 (keeping house)
Martha E Lambert 33 (no occupation)

Spencer M Lamber 19 (at home)

1880 census record for Pleasant Grove, Randolph, North Carolina has similar neighbors (namely one Reuben E Moffett as a neighbor in 1870 and R E Moffett in 1880), so we can conclude this 1880 is the same, which lists Oscar for the first time:

John M. Lambert 37
Louisa J. Lambert 34
Alfrido V. Lambert 9
Sarah L. Lambert 5
Oscar L. Lambert 3
William S. Lambert 8M

(is this the same Oscar that married Cora Gladden?)

This blog is to help me keep track of all the various threads that I'm researching. It is intended primarily just to help me keep notes, but also to find all information related to an individual based on the tags that are available. I expect all the entries to be short.
